Runaway: A Moving Video of a Father’s Love

You’re probably familiar with the Prodigal Son parable from the Bible.

Here’s what you might call a more modern version depicting the depth of a father’s love, featuring the song “Runaway” by Jess Ray. (Unofficial video by Kevin McGlade.)

The father in the video (and the parable) is a good model for us to follow with our own children. Our kids will mess up. We tell them and tell them how to live their lives, but still there are some lessons they’ll learn only by experiencing it themselves. (Many of us were the same way.)

Watching them struggle and learn is tough on us dads. But, no matter what, we need to always be there for them, waiting with a hug and our forgiveness, and ready to lavishly celebrate their return home.
