Sam J. Jones

Sam J. Jones is an ordained minister and former bishop of the Good News Fellowship of churches in Birmingham, Alabama where he was responsible for eight churches. He is presently the co-host of a national television show called, “Families in Focus From a Christian Perspective” in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  He is also the co-founder and president of Families in Focus Institute.
In 2001, Sam initiated the University of Alabama Birmingham Fatherhood Initiative. Within three years Sam had 17 fatherhood sites throughout the Birmingham metropolitan area, which included more than 345 fathers in classes per week. He also implemented the Birmingham Fatherhood Court Initiative.
In 2003, Sam became a Master Trainer for the National Center for Fathering. He has trained over 100 facilitators across the United States. Sam was also invited to Jos, Nigeria where he conducted workshops on fatherhood for Christian spiritual leaders in 2008.
In 2008, Sam was asked to be a fatherhood consultant for the State of Alabama Children’s Trust Funds and the State of Alabama Human Service Child Enforcement Department. He also served as a fatherhood consultant for other organizations across the United States.
In 2009, Sam was invited to be part of the Fatherhood Court Summit in Washington D. C., along with other fatherhood experts in developing materials that would assist the federal government and local communities in advancing the work of “fathering court”.  In this role they provided the ground work in the development of the “Fathering Court: Getting To The Heart Of Child Support” guide and a flow chart for organizations to initiate Father Courts across the United States.
In 2011, Sam became the co-founder of the National Network of Intercessory Prayer (NNIP). The NNIP has representatives in 13 states with 12 regional coordinators.
In the sport arena, Jones is a world class fencer. In 2010, he represented the United States at the Veteran Worlds Fencing Championship in Porec, Croatia where he placed 13^th , and in 2013, he also participated in the Veteran Worlds Fencing Championship in Bulgaria.
Sam has received many national, state and local awards for his leadership and athletic abilities.
